Sunday, 4 October was our annual Harvest Festival. There was a family service at Wenden church for people to attend in person or via zoom. Those who came along had the chance to see the beautifully decorated church.
This year we supported the Saffron Walden Foodbank uttlesford.foodbank.org.uk with many donations of tinned foods, masks, coffee, squash, toothbruses and chocolates.
Sophie Durlacher wrote to thank our communities: As manager of Uttlesford I would like to extend my thanks on behalf of our staff and volunteers to the residents and parishes of Wendens Ambo, Littlebury, Littlebury Green, Catmere End and Strethall. We never cease to be amazed by the generosity of our Community but this year has been really exceptional. People have gone out of their way during challenging times to make sure that those in need are getting the help they deserve. We have seen unprecedented calls upon the Foodbank and are giving out 4 tonnes of food & essentials most months so we are very grateful for your Harvest Collections. We did wonder how successful Harvest would be for us this year but we needn’t have worried as everyone has made a real effort on our behalf.
Many thanks and best wishes
